I Recorded This With My iPhone
Looking to start a podcast? If yes, and you have yet to dive right in… I have a question for you…
What's holding you back?
Is it the tech?
Is it time?
Is it the upfront investment to get all the fancy podcast bells and whistles?
Does hearing your own voice sound nails on a chalkboard?
Are you afraid nobody wants to hear what you have to say?
All relevant concerns and fears.
Here's the good news, though. Chances are if you want to start a podcast, you've got an itch to share a message. And, you're more than likely willing to do the work
it takes to launch a podcast (yes… a hosting a podcast does take work.)
You've got the courage (stepping up to the mic) and serious gumption (you may want to give up… but you won't) to keep your fans and listeners eager and happy!
So, if you're willing to do those two things… just those two… you got this! Don't sweat the tech, the investment, your voice, or how much time.
I'm going to show you and tell you how it's done in this episode of the Rusty Ryal Show.
Now, this podcast will be more the shortest I'll ever record, but for three good reasons.
Here are three reasons why:
Reason #1 – at the time I recorded this podcast, I was in a crunch to stay commited to getting a weekly podcast out to my listeners. I had to do it fast and do it without my standard equipment.
Reason #2 – Although the information I provide and give out for free in this podcast is not world-shaking or mind-blowing, it's a valuable resource for anyone that may be thinking… “I don't have enough stuff… or the right stuff to start a podcast.” If you have a phone… you have the right stuff.
Reason #3 – I wanted to see if I can actually record a podcast with only my phone, a $1.99 app, my laptop (to post my feed), and do it all in less than an hour. You never know when a mic might break, or you just completely forget to pack your equipment before you go on a trip ( this is what happened to me).
I firmly believe podcasting is the new blogging. It's much more entertaining (in my honest and humble opinion) I believe one day publishing a podcast will be a paid media.
So, why not get in the game while seats at the mic are free.
